Oh Divine Light, Creator of all that is,
I come before you today seeking your empowerment.
Behind the masks I wear, the roles I play, and the expectations I strive to fulfill, lies a yearning for authenticity. It is a yearning to be truly myself, the unique and beautiful soul you have created.
I confess, Lord, that I have often lost sight of this true self. I have allowed fear, insecurity, and the desire to please others to dim my inner light. I’ve conformed to expectations, hidden my vulnerabilities, and denied myself the freedom to express my authentic self.
But today, I choose a different path. I choose to unveil the layers that have shrouded my true self. And to embrace my quirks, my passions, and my imperfections. I choose to live a life that is true to my heart.
Lord, help me shed the masks and stand tall in my own skin. Free from the expectations of others, free from the need to conform, free from the chains of self-doubt and fear.
Illuminate the path ahead and reveal the hidden treasures within me. Help me to develop my talents, pursue my passions, and share my unique gifts with the world.
I also pray for understanding and acceptance from those around me. Let them see the beauty in my authenticity, the depth in my vulnerabilities, and the strength in my individuality. Help them to embrace my true self without judgment, but with open hearts and minds.
Heavenly father, empower me to be the unique and beautiful soul you have created.

Many think their genuine selves are linked to the trappings and labels of our daily lives, such as siblings, partners, parents, or job titles. Also, everyday experiences, other people’s expectations, and how they see us (as “the smart person” or “the sporty person”) can shape who we are on the outside. That within itself can make it harder to see who we really are.
Nevertheless, getting to know and being the real you is good. It has to do with how we feel about ourselves. Studies have shown that people who had a strong sense of well-being and purpose were the ones who thought most about their “authentic selves.”
Other studies have found that people who made big decisions based on their “genuine selves” were happier with how things turned out. Thus, many ask how I become myself, the real me.
God made you the way He wanted you to be because He knew what He was doing. Also, you are one of a kind; no one else is exactly like you. He made us all different and unique.
In fact, each person is an individual. No two of us are the same. We are all unique. The point is that nobody knows us better than our creator. Therefore, it’s best to seek his guidance.
