What’s in a name?

What’s in a name? Regarding the angels, it’s God.

Angels connect the transcendent to the immanent God. We need a method to expand our concept of God from the God who produced galaxies to the God who cares about healing, forgiveness, salvation, love, hope, and virtue. And the term angel helps bridge that gap.

We have free will, so it is up to us to choose whether we want the help. But our Heavenly Father will always send us signs, hints, and nudges about what to do next. Angels bring these messages.

The Lord sends communications in many forms, including in the form of angels. In the Bible, we find cases where an angel starts talking to someone, and without explanation, it transitions to God speaking.

For example, the angels that talked to Abraham on Mount Moriah (Gen 22:15) and Moses out of the burning bush (Exodus 3:2,4) suddenly became the Almighty Creator.

The Lord communicates through various avenues, depending on the needs of the individual. He frequently speaks in hushed tones. His voice is felt at times and audible at others. He communicates with us through scriptures, impressions, dreams, and in the form of angels.

Yahweh has numerous forms. But no matter what form he takes, It is God.
Understanding this fact clarifies the many misunderstandings within the multitude of religions—for instance, the Trinity in Christianity. The three forms actually represent one God.

Jesus is simply a form of our heavenly Father (not an individual entity). Any other interpretation renders him equal to God, which would destroy biblical monotheism. Think about it!

All human interactions are spiritual. Angels, Jesus, or any other figure should only connect us to and lead us to God.

To be or not to be – What’s in a name?

When playwright William Shakespeare questioned in Romeo and Juliet, “What’s in a name?” he was referring to the belief that names are merely a convention for distinguishing things or types and have no significance or meaning in and of themselves.

You should be paying attention to the meaning of the title or label and where it’s taking your focus. If it takes you away from the King of Kings, it is man-made fiction.

The 72 fold-names are not naming angelic beings; they list the powerful attributes of God. And if you use those names or call on any other heavenly entity with the proper understanding, they unleash His miraculous power.
